In a special episode, host Niall speaks with Andy Thomas, noted British historian and investigator of unexplained mysteries.

Andy’s new book, Conspiracies: The Facts. The Theories. The Evidence, looks at some of the most famous cases throughout history, from the Gunpowder Plot to blow up the English parliament, to more modern events such as the Moon Landings and the death of Princess Diana.

Andy asks why it is that major news stories often spawn “conspiracy theories”, perhaps the most famous example of which is the widely held belief that President John F. Kennedy was not killed by a lone shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald - the official explanation of what happened. And he looks at some of the evidence that might lend credence to a few famous conspiracy theories.

Niall and Andy discuss the book, and they have a broader chat about some of the cases that we’ve look at in this show, and one case (the death of Dr David Kelly) that we will be considering later this season.
