thomas becket
A commoner born in London in 1119 AD, Thomas Becket won the highest offices in the land thanks to his loyal service to his king, Henry II. But when he was ordained and made Archbishop, Thomas became a devoted defender of the Church - even when that brought him into deadly conflict with the monarch.
Did Henry mean to order this infamous crime? Or were his knights merely overly zealous?
Historically accurate? Not so much. A good watch? Most definitely! Check out Becket, staring Richard Burton and Peter O’Toole for a dramatic imagining of the troubled relationship between Thomas and Henry.
